There is insufficient information in the Book of Mormon to locate Tarshish in relation to any other places. Researchers have not reached agreement on the location of Tarshish. Using Occam’s Razor, it's placed west of Jerusalem.

II NEPHI 8:32 [12:16]: And upon all the ships of the sea, and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
Commentary: This verse references the place of Tarshish. This verse also occurs in Isaiah 2:16. This verse names the place of Tarshish but provides no information regarding its location.
