ALMA 15:23 [27:22]: And it came to pass that the voice of the people came, saying: Behold, we will give up the land of Jershon, which is on the east by the sea, which joins the land Bountiful, which is on the south of the land Bountiful; and this land Jershon is the land which we will give unto our brethren for an inheritance.

Commentary: This verse references the places of Bountiful, Jershon, and the Sea East. The land of Jershon is south (and east) of the land Bountiful and by the Sea East. The land of Jershon is by the Sea East. The grammar in this verse is confusing. The phrase 'which joins the land Bountiful' is not clear what it refers to, either the land of Jershon or the sea.

ALMA 15:24 [27:23]: And behold, we will set our armies between the land Jershon and the land Nephi, that we may protect our brethren in the land Jershon;

Commentary: This verse references the places of Jershon and Nephi. The term 'we' refers to the people in Zarahemla. The land of Jershon and land of Nephi are in proximity to each other.

ALMA 15:29 [27:26]: And they went down into the land of Jershon, and took possession of the land of Jershon; and they were called by the Nephites the people of Ammon;

Commentary: This verse references the places of Jershon and the wilderness around Zarahemla. The term 'they' refers to the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi. The phrase 'went down' indicates the wilderness around the land of Zarahemla is higher in elevation than the land of Jershon.

ALMA 15:36 [28:1]: And now it came pass that after the people of Ammon were established in the land of Jershon, and a church also established in the land of Jershon; and the armies of the Nephites were set round about the land of Jershon; yea, in all the borders round about the land of Zarahemla; behold the armies of the Lamanites had followed their brethren into the wilderness.

Commentary: This verse references the places of Jershon and Zarahemla. The land of Jershon is in proximity to the land of Zarahemla.

ALMA 16:80 [31:3]: Now the Zoramites had gathered themselves together in a land which they called Antionum, which was east of the land of Zarahemla, which lay nearly bordering upon the seashore, which was south of the land of Jershon, which also bordered upon the wilderness south, which wilderness was full of the Lamanites.

Commentary: This verse references the places of Antionum, the hill Onidah, Jershon, the Sea East, the South Wilderness, and Zarahemla. The phrase 'nearly' means close, but not next to the Sea East seashore. The land of Antionum is south of the land of Jershon and bordered the South Wilderness. All clauses using 'which' in this verse except the last clause refer to the land of Antionum. This verse indirectly locates the hill Onidah in the land of Antionum since Alma later speaks to the Zoramites on the hill Onidah.

Commentary: This verse references the places of Antionum, Jershon, and a ridge between the land of Antionum and the land of Jershon. Other people in the land of Antionum went from the land of Antionum to the land of Jershon. The phrase 'came over' means that there is a ridge between the land of Antionum and the land of Jershon. With a large number of people leaving the land of Antionum to go to the land of Jershon and not to other lands would indicate that the land of Jershon was next to the land of Antionum.

ALMA 16:247 [35:8]: Now the people of the Zoramites were angry with the people of Ammon who were in Jershon, and the chief ruler of the Zoramites being a very wicked man, sent over unto the people of Ammon desiring them that they should cast out of their land all those who came over from them into their land.

Commentary: This verse references the places of Antionum, Jershon, and a ridge between the land of Antionum and the land of Jershon. The Zoramites were in the land of Antionum. Commentary: This verse references the places of Antionum and Jershon. The Zoramites were in the land of Antionum. To prepare for an attack would indicate that the land of Jershon is in close proximity to the land of Antionum.

ALMA 20:17 [43:15]: And it came to pass as the armies of the Lamanites had gathered together in the land of Antionum, behold the armies of the Nephites were prepared to meet them in the land of Jershon.

ALMA 20:20 [43:18]: And it came to pass that he met the Lamanites in the land of Jershon, and his people were armed with swords, and with cimeters, and all manner of weapons of war.

Commentary: This verse references the places of Antionum and Jershon. The term 'he' refers to Moroni. Meeting in the land of Jershon from the land of Antionum implies the land of Jershon is next to the land of Antionum.

ALMA 20:25 [43:22]: Behold, now it came to pass, that they durst not come against the Nephites in the borders of Jershon; therefore they departed out of the land of Antionum, into the wilderness, and took their journey round about in the wilderness, away by the head of the river Sidon, that they might come into the land of Manti, and take possession of the land; for they did not suppose that the armies of Moroni would know whither they had gone.

ALMA 20:29 [43:25]: Now Moroni, leaving a part of his army in the land of Jershon, lest by any means, a part of the Lamanites should come into that land and take possession of the city, took the remainder part of his army and marched over into the land of Manti.
