What are the mysteries of God?

There are several statements in the Bible that refer to the "mysteries of the kingdom of heaven" or "mysteries of God."

Commentary: The scriptures say that there is nothing special about the mysteries of God. He has made them known from the beginning and anyone willing to hear and understand can know them. They are mysteries only because we let the things of the world enter our heart. We cause the mysteries because we accept the things of the world and shut out the truth of the Gospel. This topic is very closely related to the topic on Glory.

Old Testament

Connects the hidden parts to wisdom
Psalm 51:6 - Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

The world in our hearts hide the things of God - Key Verse -
Ecclesiastes 3:9-11 [9] What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? [10] I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. [11] He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Mysteries are hidden to those that do not see or hear. This is why people cannot understand parables - Key Verse -
Matthew 13:9-13 [9] Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. [10] And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? [11] He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. [12] For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. [13] Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. Jesus did many things that we will never know about (mysteries to us), but the people that knew Jesus knew of these things
John 21:25 - And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Mysteries are secrets from the beginning. They are made known to those with faith
Romans 16:25-27 [25] Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, [26] But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: [27] To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Mysteries are hidden wisdom for our glory (understanding) - Key Verse -

[3] In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Wisdom unlocks the mysteries, which we must speak to others for them to hear - Key Verse -
Colossians 4:3-5 [3] Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: [4] That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. [5] Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Iniquity creates mysteries. People who let iniquity work on them will remove themselves
2 Thessalonians 2:1-8 [1] Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, [2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. [3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; [4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. [5] Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? [6] And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. [7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Those that hear will eat of the hidden manna (mysteries)
Revelation 2:16-17 [16] Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. [17] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

At the end, the mystery of God will be finished
Revelation 10:7 - But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

[6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. [7] And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. [8] The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. Open ears and hearts are required to understand the mysteries of God - Key Verse -

Commentary: Commentary: The concepts of being unselfish (seek not for riches), seeking wisdom, and keeping the commandments all lead to having the mysteries revealed are consistem with the scriptures. That Satan (iniquity) prevents understanding the mysteries (by leading people away from God) is also consistent with the scriptures.
