ETHER 6:65 [14:28]: And Coriantumr pitched his tents in the valley of Shurr.
Commentary: This verse references the places of the hill Comnor, valley of Corihor, and the valley of Shurr. The direction of travel of the armies would be westward from the Sea East, so the valley of Shurr is near, and east of, the valley of Corihor. The river in the valley of Shurr would have flowed eastward to the Sea East. This would indicate the hill Comnor was on the north or south of the valley Shurr.
ETHER 6:66 [14:28]: Now the valley of Shurr was near the hill Comnor; wherefore Coriantumr did gather his armies together, upon the hill Comnor, and did sound a trumpet unto the armies of Shiz, to invite them forth to battle.
Commentary: This verse references the places of the hill Comnor, valley of Corihor, and the valley of Shurr. The valley of Shurr was near the hill Comnor. The phrase 'was near' means the valley of Shurr is next to the hill Comnor. The valley of Corihor would have to be very close to hill Comnor in order to hear a trumpet. The hill Comnor is between the valley of Shurr and the valley of Corihor.
ETHER 6:80 [15:8]: And it came to pass that he came to the waters of Ripliancum, which, by interpretation, is large, or to exceed all; wherefore, when they came to these waters, they pitched their tents; and Shiz also pitched his tents near unto them; and therefore on the morrow, they did come to battle.
Commentary: This verse references the places of the hill Comnor, valley of Corihor, valley of Shurr and the waters of Ripliancum. The area held by Coriantumr is somewhere near the waters of Ripliancum. The direction of travel indicates they came from the valley of Corihor and valley of Shurr (with the hill Comnor between these valleys), which were eastward and southward of the waters of Ripliancum. So, the waters of Ripliancum are westward and northward of the valley of Corihor and the valley of Shurr. Given that this is the first mention of this place, it is interesting to note that the waters of Ripliancum had already been named and Ether knew the name. This indicates that the Jaredites previously knew about this place.
ETHER 6:82 [15:10]: And it came to pass that the armies of Coriantumr did press upon the armies of Shiz, that they beat them, that they caused them to flee before them; and they did flee southward, and did pitch their tents in a place which was called Ogath.
Commentary: This verse references the places of Ogath, the valley of Corihor, the valley of Shurr, and the waters of Ripliancum. The battle started at the waters of Ripliancum, so, Ogath is south of the waters of Ripliancum. With the armies heading southward, the armies of Shiz were south of the armies of Coriantumr. The armies would have passed again through the Valleys of Corihor and Shurr to get to Ogath.
